Nursery, Sunday School & Children's Church

"The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:6,7 (NIrV®)

During our Worship Service there is child care available downstairs in the Nursery room.  Infants and children  (ages birth through kindergarten) may be checked in at 9:50 AM  or anytime throughout the service as they are  welcome to stay for the singing and then be  brought down by their parents and signed in. Please do not hesitate to ask an usher or      greeter for directions to these areas.

Jesus took a little child and had the child stand among them. Then he took the child in his arms. He said to them, "Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.  And anyone who welcomes me also welcomes the one who sent me.             Mark 9:36-37 (NIrV®)

The Nursery Ministry at Grace Church seeks to show the love of Jesus to children (infants through kindergarten age) through Christ-like care.  Our CORI screened nursery workers provide a safe, secure, nurturing environment for children while leading a time of worship    and teaching about the goodness of our God. There is a check in/check out procedure in    place for each child and a silent usher system to notify parents if they are needed during    the service.

Each Sunday directly after Worship in singing, children grades K-6 are dismissed to meet for Children's Church.  Children will exit by the door next to the pulpit.  The class is held in the upstairs Conference Room next to the church offices.  Our Children's Church curriculum is by Child Evanglism Fellowship.  Last spring, we completed the teaching series "The Patriarchs: God's Plan Unfolds." The lessons teach children about some of the attributes of God through the dramatic stories of His servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Children will learn to put their faith in God alone. This series includes five accounts of the Patriarchs that will inspire the children to trust God in everything!

During the summer months (June-September) our Children's Church program has a teaching rotation made up of adult teachers from our Sunday School program. All teachers have completed a CORI background check. Our summer program curriculum is centered around a Bible story using Superbook videos (Superbook is the Bible brought to life through    animation—a timeless form of storytelling—to introduce children to Jesus and help develop their faith.), activities, songs and crafts to help kids go deeper into God's Word.

Children will be brought back down to sanctuary during the final worship song and will remain in the front row with their teacher. Families are asked to pick up their children directly after the sevice.

We will be celebrating the start of Sunday School with a Kick-Off breakfast on October 2nd at 9:30.

All are welcome to attend!

Sunday School will begin again this fall on October 2nd at 11:15 following the morning worship service. The Adult Sunday School class will be meeting in the Coffee Room and will be taught by Rev. Rick Porter. Middle and high school students will meet upstairs in the conference room. Children (N-5) will be meeting downstairs for their classes.

Our Sunday School program for children (N-5) is called, DiscipleLand (  Our heart's desire is that our children will "hide God's Word in their hearts".  The Scripture tells us that if we, "train up a child when they are young (to know and trust the gospel of Christ) when they are old they will not depart from it."  We seek to come alongside parents to nurture life-long, Christ-following disciples.

Children's Church uses Bible songs and videos from Seeds Family Worship! They are Scripture word-for-word set to music.
